Visitation Center
Family Visitation Center At Nana's House In January, 2006 NaNa's House became a Family Visitation Center in partnership with Family to Family and the St. Louis City Children's Division with funding from the Annie E. Casey Foundation. Children in foster care come to NaNa's House for private meetings with their parents and siblings, or prospective foster parents or adoptive parents. This is a new program that has had significant impact nationwide in restoring families and strengthening familial bonds. Prior to this, family meetings in St. Louis have taken place in state office buildings, restaurants or other public places. Visitation Centers like NaNa's House provide a comfortable and non-threatening atmosphere where families can work toward reunification and cope privately with the wide range of emotions these meetings evoke.

Volunteers are needed to welcome these hurting children and their visitors and provide comfort and encouragement. We will help parents locate resources they need to get their children back by making referrals for employment opportunities, housing, daycare, healthcare, etc. Volunteers will also make sure the meeting rooms are in order and refreshments prepared. See the volunteer page on this website or, call 314-771-6506 to request an information packet.
